The Sivitanide Public School participated dynamically in the special inlay dedicated to the innovations of the schools at the 2nd Spoudase Festival which took place in Technopolis of the City of Athens on 19 and 20 May 2018.
Sivitanides participated with three exhibits, the "smart home", a CNC machine and a 3D printer.
School teachers with the CNC machine and the 3D printer made prints to visitors.
The interest of the students who visited the exhibition pulled the construction of the "smart home" is a group work of students of the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Automation.
The purpose of the construction is the result of group cooperative teaching in the field of the field so that students, through their roles, gain knowledge about their electronic sensors, their operation and management through a microprocessor (Arduino platform) and their integration within real data like a home (maquette construction).
The functions that are electronically controlled are the following:
- Smart energy management where, with the help of a temperature sensor, the house understands the outside temperature and based on the microcontroller settings, the air conditioning or the fireplace is activated.
- Intelligent lighting, according to which, depending on the level of ambient light, the house through the microcontroller realizes when it is night and initiates the lights of the garden and then the lights of the house.
- Intelligent Motion Detection, whereby a suitable room sensor is detected by a suitable sensor and an audible alarm is triggered.
- Automatic activation of awning / ascending mechanism depending on whether or not there is rainfall.
The responsibility for the implementation and presentation of the "smart home" was the supervised professors Ioannis Kyriakis and Maria Fafaliou.
